Genesis
It was twilight of 30th January, 2011, the 63rd death anniversary of Barrister Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi i.e Mahatma Gandhi, when a professional team of seven like-minded individuals came together over a coffee table at Vardhaman Fantasy theme park in Mira Road, Mira-Bhayander, Mumbai with an idea, purpose and commitment to empower and impact the lives of underprivileged and marginalized communities in India and discussed the formation of a charitable non-governmental organization (NGO) that would address many pressing issues related to education, public health and poverty alleviation.
Christened as Helping Hand Foundation, it was officially founded in the year 2011, (registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI, 1860 & The Maharashtra Public Trust Act, 1950). The name connotes the efforts to lend a helping hand to every needy especially the unprivileged and marginalized.
6th April every year is celebrated as our “Foundation Day”
