Overview

Menstruating women and girls in rural areas do not afford quality sanitary pads, hence have unhygienic and risky menstrual periods i.e  leaves, rugs, papers etc.. giving rise to ill health and also “Period Poverty” which is a term denoting lack of availability or access to sanitary pads. The poor hygiene in turn makes them vulnerable to various urogenital and Reproductive Tract diseases

Approach

Ensuring Eco-friendly and hygienic Menstruation  
Eco-friendly cloth sanitary napkins are gifted to unprivileged women and girls in rural and hard-to-reach areas which suffices at least 2 years of use as per given instructions as well as gifted 10,000/- napkins to beneficiaries in Mira Bhayander and Vasai-Virar Jurisdiction.

Outcome

The beneficiaries are ensured that they have months of clean hygienic products during their menstrual periods, hence enjoy the said tenure and also do not have to purchase the pads or resort to unhygienic menstrual products.
