Overview
“Dhavgi Dongar” is a slum area located next to Garbage Dumping Yard of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation. The residents of the said slum are residing since last four decades and were deprived of basic civic facilities including street lights until the 2018, the said area is well known for anti-social elements and activities which kept flourishing in the dark due to absence of street lights in the entire vicinity.
Approach
Installation of Street Lights
Took Cognizance of the above mentioned problem area suo-moto and co-ordinated with local municipal departments and utility company i.e Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation and Reliance Energy Ltd. 070 street lights were installed in the said area after 22 reminders by us to the said departments. Crime rate, thefts, consumption of alcohol, drugs came down drastically after the area is lit by street lights.
Outcome
The beneficiaries directly and indirectly benefits from the above intervention.
