Overview
During the lockdown / restrictions implemented by the GoI and GoM in mid-2020 and 2021, the migrant population of dailywagers suffered from unemployement and hunger, resulting participation in mass exodus to their native villages and towns covering thousands of kilometers in hot summer months on foot or by sharing vehicles, many were killed in accidents during the said exodus. The main reason was absence of food grains in the household which led them to take risky steps back home
Approach
Ensuring Food Security
Hunger Relief Supplies were gifted to unprivileged beneficiaries from the migrant, footloose daily wager families in rural areas regularly during the entire lockdown period which ensured their food security and it is pertinent to note that none of the beneficiaries participated in the mass exodus of migrants from the city as they had basic food security at home which was ensured by us.
Outcome
7000 beneficiaries directly benefitted from the above intervention
