Overview
As of November, 2022, the dedicated government portal (Ni-Kshay) lists 1685 patients undergoing treatment for TB in the jurisdiction of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation; it is also on record that the disease reoccurs in patients with poor nutrition leading to deaths.
Approach
Gifting “Nutritious Food Kits” as part of Monthly Nutritious Support program.
Responding to the launch of Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, 2025 inaugurated by the Hon’ble President of India i.e Droupadi Murmu in September, 2022 to eliminate TB by the year 2025 and calling all stake holders to provide nutritional support to consented TB Patients, we adopted the unprivileged patients and gifting government recommended “Nutritious Food Kits” every month during their treatment period at a government health facility by visiting each of their dwelling places in the streets, huts, tents, hills, slums, hard-to-reach rural areas.
